Lot description
Grade: 3 ~
Estimations: 12 941 - 20 000 EUR
Reference: Kopicki 7688(R6), H.-Cz.2498, Tyszkiewicz 40 mk.

Extremely rare thaler minted in less than 200 pieces and at the same time the last thaler emitted by the mint in Danzig. Impressive bust of the king in beautifully decorated armor and a crown on king's head. A distinctive coin and practically the only available thaler of John III Sobieski. Known in about ten pieces at the auctions market.

Nice, natural condition with well preserved details. Minor scratches in front of the king's head. On the back, most likely a trace after an attempt to make the so-called Schraubthaler. Good eye appeal with some luster under the old patina.

This cois is of the highest rarity, sought after and highly priced by collectors regardless of the condition. Being in a possession of the thaler of John III Sobieski will allways be the highlight of any collection.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
