The Bank of Polish Christian Merchants and Industrialists in Lodz was established in 1920. The uniqueness of the bank consisted in the statutory restriction of the circle of shareholders and customers of the company according to non-economic criteria - they could only be Christians. In October 1930, a resolution was passed to remove the word "Christians" from the name - however, despite the resolution, the bank used this word in its name until the end of its existence. It was liquidated shortly before the outbreak of World War II.
