Very rare Jan II Casimir thaler from the Danzig mint from 1649.
An early, much more interesting type with a characteristic, richly decorated coat of arms of the city of Gdańsk and GEDANENSIS with a small letter s at the end.
Variety in the "Jan Kazimierz Thalers" catalog by Jarosław Dutkowski is rated as rarity R5-R6, which, however, does not coincide with the occurrence of this type of thalers on the auction market.
Attractive coin with plenty of mint bloom.
Rare coin, worthy of the advanced collections of Royal Poland.
