Rare and typologically sought after, a Torun trojak of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski.
Piece in excellent, even unremarkable condition of preservation, which is a great rarity.
An end-of-plate coin, with minimal scarcity, but technically excellent, with a fully mint and lustrous background.
As for the item on display, this is the only piece with the highest grade in the NGC registry and the only Onebid listing for this variety in MS65.
A coin for top collections!
Variety with small numbers 17 in the date, on the sides of the coat of arms of Toruń the letters S-B of Szymon Brückman, head of the Torun mint.
The issue was only minted for two years at the Torun mint, with the 1765 vintage being the second and last. In 1766, on February 10, a universal was issued, which ordered the unification of coins minted at all state mints, while changing the minting rate greatly. The mint administrators, together with the City Council of Toruń, could not agree to such drastic changes, due to the unprofitability of production. As a result, the Sejm ordered the closure of the mint in 1766.
