Rare medal from the series dedicated to the Peace of Altranstadt, concluded on September 24, 1706, between August II and King Charles XII of Sweden, ending the Third Northern War.

Edward Raczynski writes about this item as follows: "The terms of the Treaty of Altranstadt and the effects it had on the fate of our homeland, as well as on the fate of Saxony and Sweden, are well known; we will not dwell on the subject, which we leave to historians, we will only mention the numismatics placed here.
The medal under the number 323, as far as we can judge from the inscriptions, was minted at the inspiration of the Swedish government or at least in its spirit."
