Very interesting and sought-after issue, constituting an interesting addition to the collection of coins of the Second Polish Republic.
The medal was created based on the design of the famous medalist Karl Goetz, who was inspired by the famous Amrogowicz coins from 1928. On these coins, a crowned eagle decorated the obverse, and the reverse depicted the Virgin Mary and Child. Goetz, a German medalist, used this design again during World War II, creating a propaganda medal for the Third Reich. On the new medal, Goetz placed a swastika on an eagle, and on the surrounding inscriptions he placed "A miraculous painting from Częstochowa" and "intact under German guard."
Medal signed with the initials KG Karl Goetz.
On the edge inscription BAYER HAUPTMÜNZAMT SILVER 900 f.
Obverse: an eagle in a crown with a swastika on the chest, below the designer's initials KG
UNVERSEHRT : UNTER DEUTSCHEM SCHUTZ
