Commemorative Medal for the War of 1940-1945 - established on February 16, 1946 to reward Belgians and foreigners serving in the Belgian armed forces, members of the resistance movement, merchant navy and fishing fleet, who fought during World War II. The medal with a ferrule in the form of crossed sabers was awarded to participants of the fighting in May 1940, and from 1952 also to members of the resistance movement. Fitted with needles for fixing.
