Undoubtedly the
most prestigious and one of the rarest Polish banknotes.
The highest
denomination of the first Polish banknotes from the period of the Kościuszko
Insurrection. Only thousand pieces were printed in the eighteenth century. This banknote is so legendary, and at the same time rare that
collectors beginning their adventure with Polish paper money already at the start
assume that it is virtually impossible to get it, hence colloquially in the
environment of enthusiasts of the topic, it is considered that 100 zloty is the highest of available examples from this characteristic emission. The 500 zloty, and
especially the offered 1.000 zloty remain in the realm of
dreams.
This banknote is known only from the largest collection of Polish banknotes of the "Collection of
Lucow", another piece is in possession of the collections of the Czapski
Museum in Krakow. Only two national auction quotes have been known since 1989!
A position that did not appear even at the famous 5th WCN auction, during which the
Dąbrowski collection of extremely rare Polish banknotes was auctioned,
and which until now has been recognized as the best auction related to Polish paper
money, which has so far taken place.
Visually, very nice condition, especially for such a unique item. Banknote after a professional and long-lasting conservation procedure, carried out under our supervision in an expert workshop, which only with our auction house and only with unique items, undertakes cooperation. Works were made with unbelievalbe an unusual sense, so that they touch only the critical points, important from the point of view of the further collector's circulation. Few creases and minor piece added at the bottom right corner. Paper is firm with natural, intensely yellow, characteristic for this denomination colour. The dry stamp is fully preserved and readable, and most importantly it is still shiny. Beautiful appearance.
A truely extremely rare banknotes which possession multiplies the prestige and value of the collection. Important from a historical point of view. So rare and prestigious that it can be called the "Holy Grall" of Polish banknotes.
A uniqe opportunity to acquire such an amazing, phenomenal piece of Polish paper money history and at the same time an excellent investment that shall not disappoint a new owner over the years to come.
As a long-time enthusiast and collector of Polish paper money I highly recommend it!
